Subject: Elise Version 2

I was down at the SAE show where we are sharing a booth with Lotus Engineering yesterday. I spent a little time looking at the New Elise they had sitting there and I was surprised that the seam lines between the headlights and taillights are molded into the fiberglass, not real seams. I had thought that these indicated they had broken up the clamshells so the car had separate peices for those parking lot bumps. This would explain why it would need more engineering time to convert to US spec.

I did like the looks although I like the original better. Where the original looks pretty, happy and fun like the fun blonde you had a crush on in high school, the new one looks like the wild pretty brunette in leathers who you always wanted to share a motorcycle with. You lust after both of them, they both are pretty and look like a lot of fun, just in different ways. I think the new one will do better in California than the old one would since it has the look the kids on the import car tour seem to go for.
